More Typical Than Good News

Study Tied Pollutant to Cancer;
Then Consultants Got Hold of It
In 1987, Chinese scientist Zhang JianDong published a study tying chromium-6 to cancer. A decade later, he appeared to retract his life's work, although court papers indicate that the second study was written by consultants working for a utility company being sued for alleged chromium pollution.
