Why the MSM suckle the Almost Latest Example

Atrios via Salon's War Room:

"With a tip of the War Room Kevlar helmet to Atrios, here's former '60 Minutes' reporter Mike Wallace on what he'd ask George W. Bush if he were ever given the chance: 'What in the world prepared you to be the commander in chief of the largest superpower in the world? In your background, Mr. President, you apparently were incurious. You didn't want to travel. You knew very little about the military ... The governor of Texas doesn't have the kind of power that some governors have ... Why do you think they nominated you? ... Do you think that has anything to do with the fact that the country is so [expletive] up?'"

Fabulous. The first journalist in Big Media to ask W a really tough one... well, one that he could answer but it would be embarrassing... is retired and asking in the hypothetical. A day late and a dollar short. Pathetic and, well, simply unacceptable.
