Abramoff for Dummies
Time for a graphic and we have this linkless beauty from the Times. Since it's the Times, I refuse to vouch for its accuracy. And I of course still doubt that Abramoff will do as much damage as anticipated. Unless it's a sort of cancer on the GOP thing resulting in a really bad November for the party. And maybe he'll nail the Hammer (Tom DeLay), so to speak.
And maybe if his first few trial appearances don't bring on a GOP apocalypse, maybe the prosecutors'll just have to bring another couple of cases to get their value out of Abramoff. Or just pack him off to the slammer after all.
November may be more important than 2008 and Abramoff, combined with Plame, to a degree, and the spyin' and Katrina, may gives us a 1994 where the less bad guys win.
Meanwhile, and maybe more important, this stuff about Abramoff and company tossing some crumbs to Dems:
Not true, a lie (but what else is new?), the wingnuts' wet dream. And the lie is put down here too. It's the wingnuts' blood libel of the week.
Meanwhile, this too is a good primer. And this too. Still, I think November can be the big payoff. And, too, even if Big Media bores of the story by next week, it still will be around for months. And not-so-Big Media -- the local markets with their congress-putzes on trial -- will be playing it up.
