@$$holes, Big Time

Does this matter?

The administration still dropped the ball totally on Katarina because they just didn't care.

And query: Could the head of FEMA, had he been so, you know, inspired, to do his, like, job, have just ignored the head, as it were, of Homeland (Sieg Heil!) Security and, well, have done his job? Why and what was stopping him, if anything??

It turns out that of all the officials at the Department of Homeland Security, it was Michael Brown, the former Federal Emergency Management Agency chief, who warned how bad the storm would be, that red tape would have to be cut to get enough equipment and manpower to the scene. Homeland Security head Michael Chertoff is the dolt who didn't have a clue and flew off to Atlanta for a conference on bird flu, a problem for sure, but not one about to kill 1,300 people.

The rest is here, if it matters.

And it's the whole problem with this administration: it's just not one guy, there is not a single key man. So Brownie was less than a complete ef-up. Even if the head of FEMA was completely competent, would the administration have had acted timely instead of dawdling? Of course not; all they saw was a predominantly poor, Black, democratice city in jeopardy; what was the rush?

So Brownie becomes the scapegoat for administration policy.

I err above, of course. These guys aren't @$$holes.

They're just evil. They're anti-democratic. And they hate us and wish us no good. And they back up their wishes with acts and policies that will affect us for a long time. Iraq will not be resolved soon. You have middle-aged Alito on the Supreme Court -- in a philosophical sense even less qualified than Clarence Thomas. The Medicare prescription plan cum Big Pharma Corporate Welfare Plan.

And so on and so forth.
