This and That
Contrary to popular opinion, a lot of generals know their stuff and know how full of crap the chickenhawks are. (And see this too about that.) Unfortunately, they're retiring and we're thereby losing them as counter-balances to the ascendant polotical hos. The inmates are truly running the institution....

Speaking of the Times, the alleged paper of record now is finally wondering whether Iraq really is so ripe for democracy. Balderbash! It's at least as ripe as Yugoslavia was!
Meanwhile it's harder and harder to recruit soldiers, keep officers....
